| The GTR is clearly faster, on the strip or the track - no one is debating that. It is a technological beast and an engineering triumph. If your only concern is lap times or 60' times then by all means, this is the car for you. Most car enthusiasts (which I consider most on this forum to be) enjoy the actual experience as well. I have never driven one personally so I am speaking purely on speculation. Hopefully someone who has drive one can chime in as to the validity of my claims: A couple major differences that i think make the Z32 platform a more enjoyable (emotional) experience when compared with the GTR- First: Having a true manual transmission (with a gear shift lever and linkage) - The dual clutch system, an undoubtedly faster engineering and technological masterpiece, to me is simply too easy, like cheating - playing a video game opposed to the real thing. Being able to double clutch, rev-match, or heal-toe are skills and techniques which are fun and when perfected or performed seamlessly, it is a very good feeling of emotional of connection with the machine opposed to just flicking a paddle which requires no skill or effort. Second: As well as a true RWD platform with no aids aside from ABD - make it a true driver's experience (more difficulty = more reward) - I understand the responsiveness of the GTRs drivetrain and differentials will allow it to be pushed to the limit easier with less stress but isn't that what driving a high performance vehicle is all about?
